ABOUT US

Rochester Cemetery is the oldest, historic cemetery in Shawnee County, Kansas.  The atmosphere is indicative of its long history due to the shade of the big, old trees along the drives.

Blooming shrubs and plants throughout the cemetery bring beautiful color around Memorial Day.  The entire site provides a picturesque setting for a final resting place.  The excellent care given to the cemetery is evident to visitors.

The cemetery is operated under the laws of the State of Kansas.  The administration of the cemetery is governed by a board of directors.

Unique features of the cemetery are perpetual care which is included in the affordable price of property, upright headstones are welcomed.  Our pet cemetery is a peaceful, final resting place for your beloved pet.  We have ample acreage available for future expansion.

Please note:

From March 16 through August 31, the City of Topeka is replacing a storm drain just east of the Rochester Cemetery entrance on Menninger Rd.

During this time, please access the cemetery from Green Hills Rd via 35th or 46th Street. Take Green Hills south to Menninger Rd, then head east to the cemetery.

You may see several “Road Closed” signs, but the closure is just east of the cemetery. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
